Over Memorial Day weekend, Evendale, Ohio dedicated its new veterans, police and firefighters memorial by casting a bell with the world’s only traveling foundry.

With the help of the Verdin Company, the foundry’s makers, local Boy and Girl Scouts loaded 500 pounds of bronze ingots into a 2,200-degree furnace. The bell was then poured and hoisted to the top of the Tribute Tower.

“The memorial is long overdue for our heroes who keep our community and country safe every day,” said Mayor Richard Finan. “This is a small thank you for your service.”

The dedication also included fireworks and music by the Evendale Police Honor Guard and Bagpipes.
