Lindsay’s Law

Travis Thompson, Director of Risk Management // Hylant Administrative Services

In June, the Ohio High School Athletic Administration announced the passing of Lindsay’s Law, which newly requires annual education for coaches and families on the nature and warning signs of sudden cardiac arrest—the leading cause of death among youth athletes.

Named after Lindsay Davis, former Miss Ohio and national heart health advocate, the bill (Ohio Revised Code 3313.5310, 3707.58 and 3707.59) stipulates the same for municipal youth sports organizations and their coaches and families.
