Established in 1901. McColloch-Baker Insurance Service has become one of the most respected insurance agencies in west central Ohio. In 1941 Melvin E. Baker joined the Agency and the business became a partnership. However, the business name remained unchanged. In 1956, Jerry McColloch, Frank McColloch’s son, joined the Agency following service in the U.S. Air Force. Jerry had majored in insurance at Ohio State and he became the office manager as well as an agent marketing all lines of coverage. In 1957, a new partnership was formed between Frank, Melvin and Jerry. With this change, a new name was adopted: McColloch-Baker Agency.

Finally, in 1961, the business was incorporated under the name “McColloch-Baker Insurance Service, Inc.” The shareholders were Frank, Melvin and Jerry. Melvin passed away in 1963 and Frank retired in 1967, before passing away in 1971. Jerry became the sole shareholder and the structure of the business remained unchanged until the Agency was purchased by the Ruese Agency on February 1, 2003.
