 The Ohio Plan would like to welcome you to our newly redesigned website, www.ohioplan.org. Formed in 1988, we have been providing creative insurance solutions for Ohio’s public entities for over 20 years. With nearly 700 members, we continue to be one of the largest and most successful alternative insurance programs in the State of Ohio.
In 2007 the Ohio Plan Healthcare Consortium was created in response to members concerns about rising healthcare costs. It was formed to provide cost-effective, quality healthcare benefit options for employees and their families and offers group medical, prescription drug, dental and vision plans. The program was designed for rate stability and cost savings achieved through the strength of the collective membership of the Ohio Plan.
The creation of the Ohio Plan Healthcare Consortium has created some changes in the structure of the Ohio Plan as 3 new non-profit corporations have been created. Two of the corporations will serve as the next evolutionary steps of the Ohio Government Risk Management Plan and the Ohio Healthcare Consortium. These two organizations are now known as, Ohio Plan Risk Management, Inc. and Ohio Plan Healthcare Consortium, Inc. The third non-profit corporation will be known as Ohio Plan, Inc.
The creation of these 3 non-profit corporations has resulted in changes to the structure of the Board of Trustees as well as a new logo for each of the 3 corporations. While our look has changed, the quality services, coverages and competitive pricing we have been known for since 1988 have not.
