The Ohio Plan is please to announce the launch of their updated website at www.ohioplan.org.  The Ohio Plan was formed in 1988 as an alternative property and casualty insurance program.  Over the past 21 years The Plan has grown to nearly 700 members and in 2007 the Ohio Plan Board of Directors approved the formation of The Ohio Plan Healthcare Consortium. 

The creation of the healthcare consortium necessitated operational changes to the organizational structure of The Ohio Plan. Effective January 1, 2009, three new non-profit organizations were created. Two of the corporations serve as the next evolutionary steps of the Ohio Government Risk Management Plan and the Ohio Healthcare Consortium. These two organizations are now known as, Ohio Plan Risk Management, Inc. and Ohio Plan Healthcare Consortium, Inc.  The third non-profit corporation will be known as Ohio Plan, Inc. (OPI). This corporation will mirror the oversight function previously performed by the Board of Directors. The new Board of Trustees consists of eleven members that include appointed and elected officials from member organizations.

The Ohio Plan website includes all of the latest information on the Ohio Plan Risk Management, Inc., including Risk Management Services, The Ohio Plan Advantage, Current Financials and a list of coverages available.  The Ohio Plan Healthcare Consortium, Inc. is also highlighted with information on the Medical, Prescription Drug, Dental and Vision Plans available.  The site will be continually updated with the latest news, events and other items of interest to Ohio’s public entities.
